Training Institute


This Institute was established during 1972 to cater the training needs of the Country and of other developing Countries in Poultry Production and allied activities This Institute imparts advanced and Specialised training to the technical officers of the Central/State Govt. Organisations, Agricultural Universities, Bank and Insurance Corporations, Cooperative Organisations, Poultry and Meat Corporations and Private Sector Organisations of the Country.

Under various sponsored programmes like ITEC, Colombo Plan, Scaap, FAO, Foreign Officials from 50 countries have been represented in training at this Premier Institute. Many high level committees proposed to upgrade this Institute to a fulfledged INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE IN TROPICAL POULTRY PRODUCTION. This proposal is under strong consideration by the Government.  

COURSES OFFERED:-  Advanced Courses,  Laboratory Courses, Specialised Courses and
Short term Orientation Courses


Facilities Available:-

Class rooms with modern Audio visual aids.  The classroom is equipped for conducting classes for about 50 candidates with necessary infrastructural facilties

Conference hall equipped with necessary infrastructure, conference mike arrangements and audio visual aids to conduct meetings and technical conferences

 

Library with National and International Journals on Poultry namely, poultry abstracts, nutritional, AOAC journals and abstracts, Poultry international, world poultry science, Zootechnica etc. Periodicals, reference books for poultry production, management, breeding, nutrition, technology of national and international authors are also available. It is proposed to equip the library with internet facilities shortly.

Hostel with Boarding and Lodging facilities for 30 trainee Officers with single independent occupancy. The entertainment facilities include a TV room, reading room, indoor sports etc. The mess will be run by the trainee Officers by dividing system.
